Lacock

Lacock village is owned by the National Trust. The village and Abbey have often been used as settings for films including Harry Potter and Pride & Prejudice.

Lacock Abbey was the home of William Henry Fox Talbot, photographic pioneer. The oriel window is the subject of one of his original negatives.

Bath Stonehenge & Avebury

Stonehenge lies approx 30-minute drive to the South. These world-renowned standing stones remain a mystery.

Avebury village lies in the centre of an enormous circle of standing stones. Visitors can walk amongst the stones and it is well worth a visit.

The Georgian city of Bath will take about 35 minutes to reach. An open top bus tour is highly recommended as you can hop on or off at places which interest you.

This beautiful cathedral city is about the same distance in the other direction across Salisbury Plain.
